Adding Contacts

Adding Contacts

Manage contacts by visiting my.biscotti.com/contacts

  • Add contact by clicking the +Add Contact button
  • Manually enter the contact information or search for a Biscotti user
  • Camera Address can be any valid Biscotti or SIP address. For example: mybiscotti@biscotti.com or myaddress@mysip.com.

All cameras activated with your Biscotti account share contacts. All your cameras automatically contain your contact information with addesses for all cameras under your account.

Making Calls

Biscotti is always powered on and ready to make or receive calls - just turn on your TV when you want to use Biscotti.

  • Press any button on the Biscotti remote to “wake up” Biscotti.
  • From Biscotti’s main menu, select the Contacts icon and press Enter.
  • Use the arrow keys to scroll to your contact and press Enter.
  • Select the camera you wish to call and click Enter.
  • Biscotti will display the call status.

  • You can specify a default camera for a contact by selecting the camera, clicking the right arrow and clicking on "MAKE DEFAULT".
  • If you want a contact to appear at the top of your list, select "FAVORITE" when listing contacts cameras.
  • To have your Biscotti automatically answer all calls from a specific contact, choose "AUTO ANSWER" for that contact.
  • You can place an audio only call by clicking the right arrow on a contact’s camera address and clicking "VOICE CALL".
 

Taking Calls

  • When Biscotti receives a call, it will notify you on the screen and with an audible ring.
  • Use the remote to select "ANSWER" and press Enter

Missed calls are displayed under Call History on the main menu.

Auto TV On

If your TV is CEC compatible, Biscotti can automatically wake-up or power-on the TV. This feature may be turned on and off under the Settings / Features menu.

If Auto TV On does not work properly, make sure your TV is set to allow automatic TV turn on. Go to your TVs menu system and look for Auto TV On or similar and make sure it is enabled.

TV manufacturers use various trade names to refer to the CEC compatibility, which is used for Auto TV On. Refer to the list for your convenience:

  • Anynet+ (Samsung)
  • Aquos Link (Sharp)
  • BRAVIA Link and BRAVIA Sync (Sony)
  • HDMI-CEC (Hitachi)
  • E-link (AOC)
  • Kuro Link (Pioneer)
  • CE-Link and Regza Link (Toshiba)
  • RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI) (Onkyo)
  • SimpLink (LGTM)
  • HDAVI Control EZ-Sync VIERA Link (Panasonic)
  • EasyLink (Philips)

To Use Without TV

To receive calls when not connected to a TV:

  • While Biscotti is connected to a TV, choose a contact you would like to be able to call the Biscotti from the contacts menu.
  • Click the right arrow and select "AUTO ANSWER". (This will allow all addresses for that contact to be automatically answered by Biscotti)
  • Disconnect Biscotti from the TV and power
  • Move Biscotti to the location you would like to monitor.
  • Plug Biscotti into wall power. Wait about 90 seconds for Biscotti to start and connect to the network.
  • Position Biscotti for the desired picture.
  • From another Biscotti or interoperable device, call Biscotti using one of the accounts you set for Auto Answer.
  • Biscotti will automatically answer the call, even though it's not connected to a TV. You will be able to see and hear the audio and video coming from Biscotti.

To view live video from your Biscotti:

  • Disconnect Biscotti from the TV and power
  • Move Biscotti to the location you would like to monitor.
  • Plug Biscotti into wall power. Wait about 90 seconds for Biscotti to start and connect to the network.
  • Position Biscotti for the desired picture.
  • Log in to MyBiscotti. (http://my.biscotti.com)
  • Once logged into MyBiscotti click on the "Live Video" button for any camera you would like to view live video from, including those powered on but not connected to a TV.
Tips
  • When viewing live video, you can adjust pan/tilt/zoom of your Biscotti when not attached to a TV as well.
  • You can enable auto answer for as many contacts as you like.
  • You can set pan/tilt/zoom values for your Biscotti when viewing real time images.
 

Software Updates

Software updates are automatically downloaded to Biscotti. To ensure that Biscotti is regularly updated with feature and performance enhancements keep Biscotti connected to your network. When an update has been downloaded it will automatically install, and Biscotti will restart.

Tips For Using Biscotti

Adjust the camera position by using the Zoom and Pan features in the Settings > Video > Camera menu.

For best video results balance the light in your room so it is distributed consistently.
